We are thrilled to announce the 1st  Wisconsin Week for the Animals presented by Animal World USA kicks off on Saturday, August 8, 2009.

The week will conclude on Sunday,  August 16, 2009. See our Calendar of Events page for  details on  the wide array of  events taking place across Wisconsin during this truly amazing Wisconsin Week for the Animals.  See how other states have celebrated their weeks for animals at http://www.weeksfortheanimals.org/

Throughout the week, educational institutions, animal shelters, rescue groups, and humane organizations across the state will be hosting scores of wonderful animal-related special events.  Educators, students, businesses and caring citizens across Wisconsin will be joining in, creating and planning their exciting activities to celebrate and help animals.

Events will include adoption fairs, spay/neuter awareness events, shelter days, R.E.A.D. dog programs in libraries, activities for the farm animals, pet donation drives and therapy dogs visiting hospitals and nursing homes.

Also to be included are a salute to our canine military and police dogs, feral cat initiatives, animal law events, educational programs at the zoos, blessings for the animals, and full-filled festival days for families to come and enjoy food, music and the always amazing animals!

Please become involved! Events are being planned now, and we need animal lovers everywhere in Wisconsin to start planning so we can all collectively participate!  See the page "Become Involved" on this website for lots of great ideas and suggestions on what you can do.

See the Calendar of Events for exciting events already in the planning, and please note we will be adding events and activities right up to the kick-off of the exciting week.
